Uche Ignites Straightforward Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their first-ever European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, especially following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Moment

This match offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne team that had finished their domestic season were no match against a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.

Control Established from the Outset

In spite of torrential rain in Dublin, Palace quickly took control. A flowing move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple finish.

Youngster Adam Wharton came close soon after, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the official waved away the protests.

Ex-Arsenal striker did not have wait long to get his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's shot had hit the post.

The home side were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.

Yeremy Pino Seals the Game

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
